The Christian Health Student Nurse Program (SNP) provides an environment that is collaborative and conducive to learning which benefits the patient, the health-care facility, and the nursing profession.   Student Nurse Program (SNP) participants are educated in psychiatric mental health adult and geriatric nursing; which includes nursing assessment and interventions; interdisciplinary care planning; psychiatric and mental-health nursing; and critical-thinking skills. Student nurses participate in classroom orientation before being assigned to clinical practice areas. Once in the clinical area, student nurses will continue to receive education from their work experience, attendance at in-services, and participation in a lecture series, designed specifically for SNP participants. Educational topics include therapeutic communication, suicide risk and interventions, managing medical conditions, fall prevention, individualized interventions/reduction in targeted behaviors and evidence based care for patients with dementia.   Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, student nurses provide direct patient care to their assigned patients. Student nurses assume responsibility and accountability for patient care as a team member, implement interventions, and assist patients in achieving positive outcomes. Through this program, student nurses, who are paid, have the opportunity to apply newly acquired knowledge and skills in the day-to-day practice of nursing.     Responsibilities include: - Performing data collection and documentation of vital signs, weight, and intake and output. - Performing EKGs and blood-glucose checks. - Providing assistance with activities of daily living i.e. hygienic care, ambulation, meals, and nutrition. - Ensuring a safe patient environment by observing the patient and environment for any potential or actual safety concerns, i.e. answering call lights promptly and responding to fall risk. - Observing for any changes in behavior, mood, or ability. - Collaborating with the registered nurse on any needed updates to the nursing care/treatment plan relative to observed and reported information regarding patient status or condition. - Providing relevant patient/family education under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.   Scheduling requirements: - During the academic year, SNP participants will be offered a flexible schedule. - During the summer, SNP participants will be required to work a minimum of three days per week with an every-other-weekend rotation.  - Hours:  Must be flexible to rotate between 7am-3pm and 3pm-11pm shifts.

Performs a variety of related clerical duties. Answers telephone, schedules appointments, files charts. Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of the Christian Health Care Center.   Competencies: - Greets patients, reviews any changes of address, phone numbers and insurance. Updates systems and informs Finance of any changes immediately.  Collects co-pay.  Provides fast friendly service. Ensures all charts are properly filed. - Provides coverage flexibility for front office. - Checks for completion of Medicare admissions questionnaire on Medicare patients. - Performs routine office work to assist the department head with clerical and administrative duties. - Schedules patient appointments. - Prints daily/weekly schedule for front office appointment binder. - Processes potential client calls (including: insurance verification, physician approval) and provides Registration Associates with appropriate information needed to schedule appointments. - Performs initial screening of potential clients, obtaining proper medical and other history in order to assist in case assignment. - Retrieves and reviews all calls from answering service and distributes to appropriate clinician. - Maintains a log of all calls received by answering service. - Maintains, mails, distributes mail, and reviews completeness of Potential Client information packets (includes face sheet, medical history, release from liability, consent for treatment, copy of insurance card, etc.) - Keeps charts accurately with any change of addresses and phone numbers, and informs business office of any changes immediately.   Schedule:  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10am-3pm   Education: High school diploma or equivalent.     Christian Health offers a wide variety of benefits to full-time employees that includes Health Insurance, a Dental Program, Paid Vacation and Holidays, 401k, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Employee Assistance Program and Direct Deposit.

Functions as Psychiatrist and provides needed therapeutic intervention, integrating Biblical principals into treatment modalities, as appropriate to patient's needs. RRBH has also received Disease-specific Care Certification for Dementia from TJC. RRBH is licensed to accept both voluntary and involuntary patients, and consists of two divisions: a general adult psychiatric program and a geriatric psychiatric program. Patients in both programs benefit from a full range of treatment services.   As a RN working at RRBH, you are part of an interdisciplinary team that develops individualized treatment plans designed to help patients reach their goals. The treatment team includes a psychiatrist; internist; psychiatric nurses and aides; a social worker; activities therapists; a dietitian, and a chaplain. Daily therapeutic treatment includes medication, individual and group therapy, psychoeducation, therapeutic activities and family support.
