Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Plant Operations Supervisor in the Plant Operations department.  The Plant Operations Supervisor plans, organizes, supervises, coordinates, and controls the activities of the Plant Operations and Maintenance functions which are necessary in maintaining the physical structures, H.V.A.C., mechanical, electrical systems, utilities and grounds of the facility in an operative and safe working condition. The Plant Operations Supervisor shall be accountable to the Director of Plant Operations for planning and maintaining an effective organization, for administering labor and material controls, for training of maintenance personnel in safety and for effective management practices. Responsible for all trades needed to expedite daily activities of the Department including but not limited to: groundskeeper, security service, all maintenance technician levels, lead person, clerical support, outside vendors, contractors, consultants, and architects. Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces the mission statement of Christian Health.

 

Competencies:

  • Operates and maintains physical plant equipment (i.e.: boilers, etc.).
  • Makes repairs on systems on all trade disciplines (i.e.: tearing down boilers, pumps). 
  • Works on snow removal operations. 
  • Assists groundskeepers.
  • Reports safety deficiencies to Plant Operation Managers. 
  • Performs Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks as assigned. 
  • Plans and lays out projects as requested. 
  • Accurately estimates and orders materials. 
  • Provides leadership to complete projects utilizing a project team. 
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of all Energy Management Systems. 
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of all Physical Plant systems in all buildings. 
  • Supervises Maintenance Technicians. 
  • Maintains daily walk through logs for all Campus.
  • Conducts rounds to detect safety and mechanical issues/concerns (i.e.: walking or driving). 
  • Conducts electrical and refrigeration system checks. 
  • Assumes In Charge status when managers are not available. 
  • Maintains inventory of repair and replacement parts on all campus. 
  • Delegates daily work orders and other tasks as they develop. 
  • Coordinates with Nursing and Materials Management for ordering of medical equipment replacement parts. 
  • Utilizes computer and CMMS to receive work requests, as well as e-mails.
  • Assist with survey readiness of documentation DOH/TJC/CMS survey or other regulatory agency inspection.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain HVAC of BMS equipment.

  • Responsible for emergency power system. 
  • Administers and implements the preventative maintenance program to ensure uninterrupted operation of the entire physical plant. 
  • Monitors its applications to assure maximum effectiveness and provides appropriate documentation of the same.
  • Keeps abreast of current federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards, and make recommendations on changes in programming/services and related policies and procedures. 
  • Participates in the development and applications of standards of quality and productivity for the Maintenance Department.
  • Coordinates the repair of equipment or recommends the replacement of, additions to, equipment or physical plant as necessary. 
  • Assists in preparation for, and participation in various regulatory and accreditation surveys. 
  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge in Electrical Trade.
  • Understands and practices wiring methods as per N.F.P.A 70. 
  • Familiar with N.F.P.A. article 700 Emergency System and OSHA Regulations. 
  • Understands and applies proper grounding of equipment. 

 

Schedule: 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday - Friday. On-call as scheduled.

 

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrates compliance with the CH ASPIRE Standards of Performance.

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+years experience as a Maintenance Technician and demonstrates proficiency in one construction trade.
  • Experience with HVAC equipment, electrical, plumbing required.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Familiar with Fire Alarm and Fire Sprinkler systems.
  • Valid driver's License.
  • New Jersey Black Seal Low Pressure Boiler License required.
  • Computer literate.
