We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Accounting Manager to join our Finance department. The Accounting Manager is responsible for assisting the Assistant Controller, coordinate all general accounting functions, third party Reimbursement Reports, and Operating and Capital Budgets for Windmere and other affiliates of CH. Demonstrates a understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of Christian Health.
Competencies:
- Posts standard accruals and journal entries.
- Records and reconciles activity of prepaid and other current assets.
- Maintains and updates all aspects of fixed asset accounting system for Windmere.
- Assigns estimated useful life to items in accordance with AHA standards and records depreciation for Windmere.
- Responsible for month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation.
- Prepares accurate and timely financial statements for Windmere and other affiliates of CH in conformance with GAAP, related work papers, and coordinates audit with outside accountants.
- Prepares monthly bank reconciliation and investment schedules.
- Communicates with departments heads and management staff to explain significant variances, identify areas of improvement, and propose cost saving measures.
- Assists in preparation of expenditure reports.
- Prepares monthly management reports comparing actual results to budgeted results. Modifies and develops reports when necessary.
- Monitors daily the operating bank accounts and assists with bank related transfers.
- Responsible for managing operational data and ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Responsible for managing system software applications.
- Development of operational procedures and documentation of data flow.
- Point person for troubleshooting system issues.
- Serve as project manager for any system implementation or upgrades.
- Coordinates the preparation of the Operating and Capital Budgets for Windmere.
- Coordinates completion of annual tax returns with outside accountants.
- Coordinates and participates in all applicable financial projects.
- Monitors all payroll tax filings.
- Coordinates completion of Pension Plan financial statements and related audit.
- Assists in preparation of disclosure statement.
- Assist in the preparation of documents for the regular annual and foundation annual audit of Windmere.
- Back up to fixed assets for Christian Health.
- Files quarterly NF-1 and NHA 100 reports.
- Assist in special projects as necessary.
Schedule: 9am-5pm, Monday - Friday.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Accounting, or equivalent, required.
