We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Medical Director of Psychiatry Services with our collaboration with Valley Health system. Valeridge Center for Behavioral Health and Wellness is designed to meet the growing demand for accessible mental healthcare in the surrounding northern NJ community. Valeridge services include preventive medicine and wellness initiatives, psychotherapy services, and medication management.  Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of Christian Health.

 

The Medical Director of Psychiatry has the primary responsibility for the provision of psychiatric services by Valley Health System, including delivery of clinical services, utilization, quality assurance, program development, protocol development, process improvement, patient satisfaction and access as well as implementation of evidence based medicine and system based practice initiatives. In the acute setting, the Medical Director oversees and/or contributes to providing daily rounding for psychiatric consultations, and promotes utilization and growth of the inpatient psychiatric consultative service. In the ambulatory/outpatient setting, the Medical Director promotes and supports the collaborative care team— psychiatry provider, social worker, and patient— towards quality care provision and patient- and family-centered care, as well as communication and collaboration with the primary care provider for excellent continuity of care.  The Medical Director may or may not have an outpatient caseload of patients, depending upon the extent of their presence and involvement on the inpatient consultative service at Valley Hospital, as well as the Medical Director’s areas of expertise and preference. The Medical Director also promotes education of the Valley Health System primary care providers, specialists, and residents towards diagnosing and managing behavioral health conditions. 

 

Schedule: Full-time

Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited medical school and residency completed. Current and valid unrestricted New Jersey state medical license. Board certified in Psychiatry.  Eligible for Medical staff privileges at Christian Health and The Valley Hospital. 

 

Compensation: Base salary range of $340,000 to $360,000, commensurate with experience and subspecialty certifications, with the opportunity for additional productivity and administrative incentives.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrates compliance with the CH ASPIRE Standards of Performance.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

Experience with primary care psychiatry or consultation-liaison psychiatry.  Experience in working with patients with DSM-5 diagnoses. Experience in supervision of Medical Staff preferred.
