We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Credentialing Assistant to join our RRBH Administration department.  The Credentialing Assistant supports departmental activities to ensure quality in conducting, maintaining, and communicating physician credentialing, privileging, and source verifications.  Serves as a resource to, and collaborates with, others to advance the quality of practitioners and patient safety of the facility.  Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of the Christian Health.

 

Competencies:

 

Conducts, participates in, and maintains credentialing and privileging:

  • Assists with daily responsibilities in Medical Staff Administration office, keeping all credential files current, contacting provider for updates, copying, scanning, and filing updates in provider files. 
  • Performs initial or reappointment/re-credentialing for eligible practitioners 
  • Reviews application and supporting documents for completeness and informs the practitioner of the application status, including the need for any additional information. 
  • Maintains credentialing database to ensure that accurate and current information is available to all stakeholders. 
  • Maintains continuing medical education records for practitioners/providers. 
  • Assists with peer review, FPPE, and OPPE processes and maintains records for review by regulatory bodies. 
  • Maintains annual or other required immunization records for practitioners/providers. 

Conducts, participates in, and maintains primary source verification:

  • Obtains and evaluates information from primary sources. 
  • Recognizes, investigates, and validates discrepancies and adverse information obtained from the application, primary source verifications, or other sources. 
  • Verifies documents, expirables, using acceptable verification sources to ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. 
  • Prepares responses to external queries regarding practitioners’ status. 

Conducts, participates in practitioner onboarding:

  • Schedules applicable interviews/orientation with key stakeholders. 
  • Provides information to Information Services, Employee Health, Human Resources for system setup and onboarding. 

Meeting Management:

  • Assists with Credentialing and Medical Staff/Medical Executive Committee Meeting preparation. 

On-Call Schedule:

  • Assists with preparation and distribution of inpatient Mental Health Services on-call schedule and updates. 

 

Schedule: Full-Time, 8:00am-4:00pm or 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday - Friday.

 

Education:  High School graduate.  Associates Degree preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrates compliance with the CH ASPIRE Standards of Performance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years secretarial/administrative experience, 2-3 years previous experience in medical services profession preferred. 
  • Microsoft Office Skills required. 
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) preferred. 
  • MD-Staff credentialing software experience preferred; data entry accuracy critical; strong time management, customer service, organization and analytical skills.
