We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time, Activities Specialist to join our HM Activities department.  The Activities Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating Activity Programs in accordance with current existing federal, state and local standards, as well as facility policies and procedures, to ensure that the spiritual development, emotional, physical, intellectual, recreational and social needs of the resident are met/maintained on an individual basis. Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of the Christian Health.

 

Competencies:

  • Assists & implements programs, and evaluates their effectiveness.
  • Records and maintains activity progress and monthly notes for each resident, in compliance with IDC master calendar; including overview of resident's activity participation and goals.
  • Completes discharge summaries and follows through with corresponding paperwork in the Activity Office.
  • Maintains good rapport with Administration, Consultants, Medical staff & complies with/implements recommended changes in planning activities. 
  • Demonstrates timely implementation of resident care plans or monthly notes (goals and approaches).
  • Alert to change in resident's condition and reports change immediately to Charge Nurse (RN), Activity Director and IDC team.
  • Utilizes Activity protocols, policies, and procedures to meet all of resident's needs.
  • Answers requests from residents or family and follows up with Director/Coordinator.

 

Schedule:  10am-6pm Monday-Friday and work Every Third Weekend from 8am-4pm

 

Education:  Must possess a high school diploma, bachelor's degree preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree or two (2) years previous experience required.
  • Should have aptitude for and some training in arts and crafts and documentation.
