We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Director Health Services, RN is responsible for supervising and providing direct nursing care to residents. Such supervision must be in accordance with current Federal, State and local standards, Assisted Living guidelines and regulations that govern the facility to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Assumes administrative functions in absence of Administrator. Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of the Christian Health.

Schedule:  Monday – Friday 7:00am-3:00pm (flexible) . Occasional Holiday and /or on-call coverage as needed.

Education/Experience:Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.   Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an RN in the State of New Jersey. CPR certified required. Must have 3 - 5 year’s experience in an administrative position and 3 - 5 year’s experience working with the elderly. Assisted Living experience preferred.

• Develops/conducts resident Wellness Program. 
• Monitors resident conditions. Refers to MD or community agencies appropriately. 
• Develops, monitors, reports, and reviews Departmental Performance Improvement indicators in conjunction with PI staff, for appropriateness of study and timely completion.
• Takes reasonable steps to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations and accrediting bodies related to area of responsibility. 
• Performs other related duties as deemed necessary and appropriate, as directed. 
• Effectively schedules and directs work to assure timely completion of projects and events. 
• Reviews and approves/denies departmental purchase requests as appropriate. 
• Works effectively with Human Resources department in the recruitment and selection of departmental personnel. 
• Provides Administrator with regular verbal/written feedback and reports. 
• Adheres to budgeted staffing levels. 
• Develops/implements infection control Program in coordination with the Administrator and Infection Control Nurse. 
• Actively serves on various committees as directed. 
• Work with Schedule Coordinator to review employee scheduled and worked hours on a weekly basis, including oversight of usage of benefit time (sick, personal, vacation time). 
• Attends scheduled/organizational meetings as required. 
• Keeps abreast of current federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards, and make recommendations on changes in programming/services and related policies and procedures.
• Completes Departmental Annual Report on a timely basis. 
• Completes employee performance evaluations on a timely basis. 
• Assists in preparation for, and participation in various regulatory and accreditation surveys. 
• Is available in person and/or by telephone and beeper for emergencies. 
• Assumes administrative functions in absence of Administrator. 
• Conducts initial assessment. Develops service/health care plan. Participates in initial interview process for resident admissions. 
• Maintains contact with outside agencies. 
• Coordinates provision of health care services. Recommends/initiates transfer of residents as needed. 
• Arranges resident transportation to and from health care services as required.
• Ensures timely completion of 45 day new hire questionnaires for new hires. 
• Effectively manages Human Resources related information systems. 
• Ensures incidents, accidents, or unsafe conditions are reported, utilizing Center reporting software as per center policy. 
• Develops reviews and updates departmental job descriptions on a timely basis. 
• Ensures completion of new employee job specific orientation. 
• Develops, implements, reviews, and updates written departmental Policies and Procedure on a timely basis, as necessary.
• Ensures coverage of nurse coordinator function in absence of Nurse Coordinator.
