Responsible to provide and oversee professional medical/psychiatric care of patients at Gracepoint Partial Program. The individual is competent to care for patients who he/she has privileges to treat. 

Responsibilities:

• Supervision of medical/psychiatric care delivered to patients in the Gracepoint Partial Program. (ESSENTIAL; SEVERAL TIMES DAILY)
• Provides commitment certificates as requested. (ESSENTIAL; DAILY)
• Follows the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Bylaws of the medical staff of the hospital. (ESSENTIAL; DAILY)
• Provides patient care services within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the governing body. (ESSENTIAL; DAILY)
• Prepares/updates treatment plan/individualized care on a timely basis. (ESSENTIAL; SEVERAL TIMES DAILY/SEVERAL TIMES WEEKLY)
• Serves as attending psychiatrist for assigned patients. (ESSENTIAL; SEVERAL TIMES WEEKLY)
• Performs psychiatric (mental status) evaluation. (ESSENTIAL; SEVERAL TIMES WEEKLY)
• Provides leadership to professional and clinical staff, i.e. Allied Health professionals. (ESSENTIAL; SEVERAL TIMES WEEKLY)
• Monitors/reassess psychiatric status of patients. (ESSENTIAL; SEVERAL TIMES WEEKLY)
  Performs admission history. (ESSENTIAL; SEVERAL TIMES WEEKLY)
• Attends treatment team meetings for patients. (ESSENTIAL; SEVERAL TIMES WEEKLY)
• Performs timely charting and documentation of all care provided, in compliance with all applicable regulations and standards. (ESSENTIAL; SEVERAL TIMES WEEKLY)
• Screens and admits patients to hospital. (ESSENTIAL; SEVERAL TIMES WEEKLY)
• Provides Psychotherapy to assigned patients as needed. (ESSENTIAL; WEEKLY)
• Attends Medical staff meetings as required. (ESSENTIAL; MONTHLY)
• Dictates discharge summaries in a timely manner. (ESSENTIAL; AS NEEDED)
• Provides coverage as assigned. (ESSENTIAL; AS NEEDED)
• Provides supervision to clinical staff as assigned/is necessary. (ESSENTIAL; AS ASSIGNED)
• Is available by telephone to PHP for clinical issues (ESSENTIAL; DAILY)

Demonstrates compliance with the CH ASPIRE Standards of Performance.

New Jersey licensed MD/DO, who is a graduate of an approved medical or osteopathic school; has successfully completed residency training in general psychiatry; board certification in general psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology is preferred.

Two years experience as a staff psychiatrist preferred.
